The SolarEdge DC Power Optimiser is a DC to DC converter which is connected to each solar panel by the installer, turning them into smart panels. DC optimisers increase the energy harvest of solar panels by maximum power point tracking (MPPT) each solar panel individually. They also eliminate solar fires caused by DC arc faults by automatically reducing the DC voltage when the inverter or grid power is shut down.
Furthermore, the optimisers monitor the performance of each panel and communicate performance data to the SolarEdge monitoring platform for enhanced, cost-effective panel-level maintenance.
